Stretching Exercises

Calf Stretches

The calf muscles and Achilles tendon are essential to smooth motion during gait. When this muscle-tendon complex is tight (which is very common), it can lead to plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, and a host of other foot problems.

Calf stretching exercises can benefit anyone with or without foot pain. Rolling a frozen water bottle underneath the foot for a few minutes every day can also provide relief.

Hamstring Stretches

The hamstring muscle complex also plays an important role while we are in motion and in our daily posture. Because we spend much of our time sitting, many people suffer from tight hamstrings. Stretching them frequently helps our feet by improving the way forces travel through our body as we walk.
