What is a podiatrist?

A podiatrist, or podiatric physician, is a specialist that diagnoses and treats medical conditions affecting the foot, ankle, and lower extremities. Podiatrists help people become healthier by treating the body through the feet. 

Podiatrists focus on many fields including surgery, sports medicine, dermatology and wound care, pediatrics, and diabetic care.
